We know that visiting a new church or coming to church for the first time can sometimes be daunting. We want you to have an idea of what to expect when you arrive at Bay.

What to expect

We are a friendly and pretty informal church community.

When you arrive you will be welcomed and given a church program and a bible.

Before the service we chat and enjoy barista-made coffee (or tea). You are welcome to share a drink with us or make your way directly to your seat; feel free to sit anywhere you like.

After the service we usually have some morning tea and socialise a bit more. You can stay for as little or as long as you like.

what happens in the service?

The service begins at 10am and usually goes for about an hour. We pray, sing together and hear a part of the Bible read and explained, and once a month we have communion to celebrate and remember Jesus’ death and resurrection.

who can join?

Our doors are open to everyone, as we believe that the good news of Jesus is for everyone. We would love to help you to explore this good news, and learn to put your trust in Jesus. Our church services are a great place for you to start, or continue, this journey.

WHAT about my kids?

We celebrate the joy (and chaos) that kids bring to our church family. Our service includes a regular children’s talk and songs, creche for kids aged 4 & under, as well as age-appropriate programs for the older kids to learn about Jesus and build friendships with other children.

All our programs are run by child-safety accredited leaders.

participation, dress codes and money

Feel free to join in with the singing, prayer and socialising as much or as little as you would like. When we celebrate communion there is no pressure to participate.

There is no dress code and no need to dress up, unless it makes you feel more comfortable.

And no, you will not be asked to give any money. During the service two bags will be passed around for regular members to give toward a variety of local and overseas missions. Please feel free to let this bag pass by. Most members give electronically.

our different ministries

At Bay we understand there are many different needs, so we provide a few different ministries that try to meet people where they’re at; creche and Bay Kids on a Sunday, and some weekly small groups (a men’s group, a women’s group, and a few mixed groups).
